This tool uses pdf.js, the open-source PDF engine built by Mozilla for Firefox, to extract the text layer directly from your PDF inside your browser. Nothing is uploaded to any server.
Font sizes are analysed to detect heading levels, and common list markers (bullets, dashes, numbers) are converted into proper Markdown list syntax. Paragraph spacing is preserved based on the document's layout.
This works best on PDFs with a real, selectable text layer — reports, articles, exported documents, and eBooks. Scanned image-only PDFs without OCR text cannot be converted, since there is no text to extract.
